"A whole lot of time has been wasted," a tearful Gard said outside the High Court in London, after his lawyer announced the ending of their legal fight for the child, widely known as Baby Charlie. "Had Charlie been given the treatment sooner, he would have had the potential to be a normal, healthy boy," Gard said in a statement as supporters chanted "Justice for Charlie." "Pope Francis is praying for Charlie and his parents and feels especially close to them at this time of immense suffering.
