Abdul Wadud said on Wednesday he could not contact Babul as his mobile phone has been switched off since the circular on his removal was issued on Tuesday. The removal order came three months after Babul's wife was murdered in Chittagong. His in-laws in Dhaka's Banasree said Babul left the house after the government issued the circular on Tuesday. There are rumours that he had been forced to submit resignation letter during the interrogation. About the government acceptance of Babul's resignation letter, father Wadud, also a former police official, said, "...not guilty, but there is an attempt to make him (Babul) look guilty.
