The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) on Thursday reminded its supervised financial institutions, or BSFIs, to not let their guard down against cyberattacks despite these tapering off lately. In response, these financial institutions launched targeted cybersecurity awareness campaigns to combat phishing and social engineering attacks, he said. “Toward the end of the lockdown, phishing and malicious website already tapered off, indicating [the] effective countermeasures of the BSP-supervised institutions,” Diokno said. Meanwhile, the BSP is strengthening its digital financial supervision by enhancing its regulatory framework, adopting supervisory technology and implementing capacity-building measures. BSP-supervised financial institutions include financial technology players,” Diokno said.
