"Moreover, we are committed to keeping the goods prices stable even in crisis," said a press release signed by Zakir Hossain, general secretary of the association. The association makes the call in such a time when the country is experiencing panic purchases of excessive amounts of essential goods fearing price hikes amid coronavirus outbreak. The BSOA urged people not to buy excessive amount of goods or stock them. Bangladesh has so far confirmed 18 cases of coronavirus infection and first death from coronavirus as of March 19.
