On Wednesday, the stock markets saw yet another day of gains as Nifty closed above 10,000-mark for the first time, creating a new record. Sensex too. once again closed at record high.The 30-share BSE Sensex went up by 154.19 points to close at 32,382.46 and the broader 50-share NSE Nifty went up by 56.10 point to end at 10,020.65.The markets had opened on a flattish note in the morning but both the indices started surging as Nifty breached the 10k peak in afternoon trade, but slipped soon after. However on the back of metal and bank stocks, the bourse once again went past the milestone, this time holding on to the gains.Speculators covered their short positions ahead of the July derivatives expiry tomorrow, building up the momentum.FII inflows ensured there is enough liquidity to support the stocks despite lingering concerns over stretched valuations.
