The government has imposed a dawn-to-dusk curfew in parts of Trans Mara South following days of deadly inter-community clashes that have led to deaths, destruction of homes and displacement of residents. The curfew was announced on Saturday by Deputy Inspector General of Police Eliud Lagat, citing deteriorating security conditions in the area. PHOTO | FILEAccording to police, the restrictions apply to several hotspots in Trans Mara South Sub-county, including Oldonyo-Orok, Siteti, Ololoma, Corner, Ratiki, Isokon, Kerinkani, Kondamet, Olkiloriti, Angata Barrikoi, Kapkeres, Lolgorian, Mashangwa and Sachangwan. Residents have been urged to comply fully with the curfew and to report any security threats to authorities.
