The party's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced on Wednesday since the authorities denied permission to hold a rally in Dhaka on Thursday, they are going to organise the parade on Saturday instead. He said, "We sought permission from the police to hold a rally either at Suhrawardy Udyan or in front of the Naya Paltan party office. We took preparation for the rally but the permission was denied." Rizvi also said fresh programmes will be announced as part of the continued peaceful programmes demanding BNP chief Khaleda Zia's release. Eight days of protest programmes that include processions, human chain, mass hunger strike and signature campaign ended on Feb 20.
