On Sunday, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir officially handed over a party letter to GM Siraj, confirming his nomination. Siraj, also BNP's Bogra district unit convenor, got the letter just a day before the schedule for the distribution of symbols by the returning officer. According to a schedule announced by the Election Commission on May 8, the by-polls to the Bogra 6 constituency will be held on June 24. As per the by-polls schedule, the deadline for nomination paper submission was May 23, the date for scrutinising nomination paper, May 27, and the last date for the withdrawal of candidature is June 3.
