BNP fails to hold workshops in 3 out of 4 districts

BNP has failed to hold workshops in three-quarters of its organisational districts as BNP central high command forcefully took decisions without holding discussions with root-level leaders, according to the party’s central sources. To strengthen the party, its central committee planned to hold organisational workshops in the 77 districts from April 18 to May 7, but only 19 of the districts complied. “As per party central instructions, we are working for the party and conducting workshops in the districts,” Shajahan told the Dhaka Tribune. BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia called a meeting of standing committee members on Monday to discuss several issues, including Vision 2030 and the reasons behind the failure to hold the workshops in most districts. Earlier, on April 18, BNP formed 51 teams consisting of standing committee members, vice-chairpersons, advisory committee members, a joint-secretary body and organising committee members.
