A three-member delegation of BNP, led by the party’s Joint Secretary General Moazzem Hossain Alal, submitted a letter with the nine-point demand in a meeting with Election Commission Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmed on Tuesday. Addressed to the Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda, the letter was signed by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. According to the letter, the nine-point demand was placed to ensure a level-playing field for all political parties during the 11th general election. Withdrawal of all divisional commissioners, deputy inspector general (DIG)s and metropolitan police commissioners from the districts and transfer on the basis of seniority. Withdrawal and transfer of all deputy commissioners (DC)s, superintendent of police (SP)s, and deputy police commissioners who have been holding their posts for the last two years.
