BNP demands Khaleda be moved to United Hospital

“Yesterday, we said the leader of the country, Begum Khaleda Zia, was seriously sick,” said BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. She fell ill near the start of April and a medical board of Dhaka Medical College Hospital doctors was formed for her medical tests. The BNP demanded that she be allowed to see her personal doctors. On Apr 7 Khaleda Zia was taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital for X-ray tests. Rizvi claimed at Monday’s press conference that though the medical board had recommended an ‘orthopedic bed’ be provided, the prison authority has yet to do so.
