Speaking at a press conference at BNP’s Naya Paltan headquarters, he alleged that many common people and the drivers of some BNP leaders' vehicles were also arrested by the law enforcement officials, reports UNB. Rizvi alleged that though the government gave BNP permission to stage the human chains, police arrested their party men without any provocation as its programs were peaceful everywhere. He said that the police swopped on their party activists even before the start of the programs and arrested them indiscriminately at the behest of the government. BNP organized human chains in Dhaka and different districts and cities on Monday demanding release of the party’s incarcerated Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
