The Jamaat affiliated-BNP candidate for Satkhira 4 consistency GM Nazrul Islam was arrested on charge of conspiracy to commit sabotage on Sunday. “Nazrul is accused in 16 criminal cases, and there were 12 outstanding warrants against him, filed with multiple police stations in Satkhira,” OC Abul Kalam said. Police also detained Shyamnagar upazila Chairman and upazila unit Jamaat chief Abdul Bari and Office Secretary Sheikh Abdul Bari from the same meeting. Police earlier in the day arrested Abdur Rob, chief of Padmapukur union Jamaat unit under Shyamnagar upazila.
