File PhotoDHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidate Jahir Uddin Swapan has been unofficially elected from the Barishal-1 constituency in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, securing 1,00,552 votes. According to the unofficially announced results, his closest rival, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Md Kamrul Islam Khan, has received 46,263 votes. In the same constituency, a total of 1, 12,208 'yes' votes were cast, while 73,989 voters cast 'no' votes. The information was disclosed during a formal briefing at the Referendum and 13th National Parliamentary Election 2026 Results Collection and Presentation Center of the Election Commission, held at the Agargaon Election Building in the capital.
