After holding a farcical election, destroying democracy, and rejecting Oikya Front’s demands, they invite us to tea. This is nothing but a mockery,” the BNP vice chairman said. Earlier on January 26, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina invited the leaders of Oikya Front to exchange pleasantries over tea at Ganabhaban on February 2. On Thursday, after a meeting of the Oikya Front Steering Committee, BNP Secretary General and Oikya Front spokesperson Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said Oikya Front rejected the prime minister’s invitation. Under these circumstances, we think a tea party by the prime minister is nothing but a mockery,” Fakhrul added.
