The MPs passed a proposal placed by Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury on behalf of Leader of the House Sheikh Hasina to reform the committees on Tuesday. Ukil Abdus Sattar from Brahmanbarhia-2 seat will sit on the parliamentary standing committee on law, justice and parliamentary affairs ministry. Harun-ur-Rashid from Chanpainawabganj-3 has won a place in the committee on finance ministry while Aminul Islam from Chanpainawabganj-2 will be on the committee on land ministry. Mosharraf Hossain from Bogura-4 is now a member of the parliamentary standing committee on primary and mass education ministry and Zahidur Rahman from Thakurgaon-3 a member of the committee on public accounts. The Bogura-6 seat won by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, wasdeclared void earlier in the day as he refused to take oath.
