BJP win forecast but Congress closes gap

New Delhi: The Congress is said to be gaining ground and bridging the gap with the ruling BJP in the year-end Gujarat elections. According to the Lokniti-CSDS-ABP News opinion survey aired on Thursday night, the BJP is likely to win 113 to 121 seats in the 182-member Assembly. The Congress could get 58 to 64 seats, up from the 26 to 32 constituencies predicted by the survey in August. In terms of the percentage of votes, the Congress is likely to get 41 against the BJP's 47. In August, the BJP was expected to bag 59 per cent of the votes and the Congress 29 per cent.
