66.7% of all the loans were issued in Dhaka alone, and 19.04% were issued in Chittagong. According to the study, the two divisions had received a total of 85.67% of total bank loans in 2016. On average, banks in 2017 disbursed 57% of their total credit as big loans, while they disbursed 58% for big loans in 2016. In 2017, the state-owned banks disbursed 40% of their credit to big borrowers, while private commercial banks, specialized banks, and foreign commercial banks disbursed 40%, 65%, and 73% respectively. Addressing the workshop as the chief guest, Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Abu Hena Mohd Razee Hassan said the Bangladesh Bank is always concerned about bank loans as there has been major concern over rising default loans.
