Till Sunday, the BCB had reservations over touring Pakistan for a full bilateral series as per advice from the government, and was stubborn on its decision to travel for a short tour. To add to that, ever since the saga started with regards to Bangladesh touring Pakistan, the BCB was adamant to play the three-match T20I series first, and then the two-game Test series, provided they were happy with the security situation. The BCB though had a 360 degree shift in decision following a meeting with Pakistan Cricket Board in the sidelines of the International Cricket Council governance meeting in Dubai, leaving the majority of the Bangladesh cricket fraternity bamboozled. The first time I faced the media regarding this issue, I said we want to play T20I series first and then the Test series,” BCB chief Nazmul explained. Bangladesh will return to Pakistan to play the first Test in Rawalpindi, starting on February 7, before the Pakistan players take part in the Pakistan Super League Twenty20.
