Bangladesh Athletics Federation officials informed that they had to change the venue due to poor condition of the track of Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka where the athletics events take place regularly. The track of BNS was installed in 2007 at the expense of around Tk10 crores and there were no major renovation works since then. “We have two more national events this year and both will be held in Dhaka. Chittagong hosted the national athletics for the first time in 1985 and the last time it was held was in 2005.
