Melbourne Renegades defeated Melbourne Stars by 13 runs in the final of Big Bash League (BBL) on Sunday at the Docklands Stadium, Melbourne. Batting first, Renegades posted a total of 145 for 5 in 20 overs before they defended it successfully and clinched their maiden BBL title. Dunk and Stoinis gave Stars a flying start before the latter was dismissed at 93 for 1. Stars after Handscomb's dismissal managed just 18 runs in the next six-odd overs left in their innings. Renegades on Sunday became the fifth BBL team to lift the trophy after Sydney Sixers, Brisbane Heat, Perth Scorchers, and Adelaide Strikers.
