BBC presenter Deborah James has revealed the reality of living with stage 4 bowel cancer as she urges the public not to be embarrassed by the symptoms. The campaigner, 37, also known as the 'Bowel Babe,' appeared on Lorraine to raise awareness of Bowel Cancer Awareness Month and a disease which claims the lives of 16, 000 people every year. Deborah James, 37, was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer in 2016 at the age of 35. 'At the age of 35, just over two years ago, I was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer,' she explained. The reality is I was a fit, young health 35-year-old and the perception for me of bowel cancer was not that.'
