The officials and employees, who would remain present in their workplaces and carry out their duties during the holidays, would be eligible for the health insurance coverage, according to a notice issued by the Bangladesh Bank (BB) on Wednesday. If any bank staff is attacked by Covid-19 during his duties, he or she will get a sum between Tk5 lakh and Tk10 lakh as health insurance under the special health insurance coverage. Besides, if bankers are infected with the virus, the employing banks would bear the entire cost of their treatment, added the BB. The special health insurance coverage will be counted from the first day of the general holidays and it would continue next for 30 days when the holidays end.
