THE BAM, in a bold move, have swung the axe on seven national players while time is running out for Lee Chong Wei’s former coach Datuk Tey Seu Bock. A total of 39 players have been retained for the national squad, which is also called the Project 2024 squad targeted for gold at the 2024 Olympics. Seu Bock, who used to be in charge of Chong Wei’s training, and now the women’s singles coach, also faces uncertainty as Kenny said BAM are looking for new women’s singles coaches. The national squad (Project 2024):Men’s singles: Lee Zii Jia, Cheam June Wei, Lm Chong King, Leong Jun Hao, Ng Tze Yong. Women’s singles: Goh Jin Wei, Soniia Cheah, S. Kisona, Lee Ying Ying, Eoon Qi Xuan.
