CAIRO – 27 April 2022: Al-Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed Tayyeb said the sanctity of Quran would not harmed by the “tampering of the lowly people and their ilk," who belong to extreme political parties in countries that need to adopt the morals of the Quran. Tayyeb hailed the Quran as “a divine book that guides all of humanity”. Al-Azhar imam prayed to God protect Egypt and restore security, peace, stability and prosperity to Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Libya and Lebanon. Al-Azhar’s remarks on the Quran comes almost two weeks after the Danish extreme Stram Kurs (Hard Line) Party showed its leader, Rasmus Paludan, while burning a copy of the holy Quran in Sweden. Sisi, during the celebration, honored a number of winners of the International Qur'an Recitation Competition.
