More than 500 Bangladesh nationals were detained from the eastern costal area of Tripoli, the capital of Libya, while they were trying to go to Europe illegally. Bangladesh embassy in Libya has so far confirmed the identities of 400 Bangladeshis. Of them, 244 Bangladeshis have agreed to return to the country. Bangladesh Ambassador to Libya Major General SM Shamim Uz Zaman confirmed the news to the media. The embassy is already in consultation with the IOM and local police for this.
