Kenya Sevens coach Benjamin Ayimba has blamed poor officiating for their second defeat in Rio. Against New Zealand, Injera got Kenya off to a good start as he burst through to open the scoring less than a minute into the encounter. Ayimba said the match was out of their hands because they could do nothing about the referee’s decisions. Ayimba said they were on course for the quarters as the breakdowns were working but the Injera decision destabilised them. The sending off of Collins Injera by referee Federico Anselmi was not only unfortunate but also very fishy.
