PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today revealed that the best tried-and-tested model for awarding government contracts involves the construction of iconic projects. Citing the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Mass Rail Transit (MRT) projects, Najib said the identities of companies which bid for such projects are not revealed to the tender committee, which he chairs. In this respect, the prime minister said he will ensure that the same model will be used for big government projects. The prime minister also said his government will continue to throw its support behind the MACC in its fight against corruption. "We also have 14 special courts to fast track corruption cases, and we have seen the result – (a higher) number of cases being brought to court," he added.
