AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader said this at a press conference after a meeting with AL Secretariat and Central Working Committee members at the AL president’s Dhanmondi office on Saturday. Founded on June 23 in 1949 as Awami Muslim League at the historic Rose Garden in Old Dhaka, the party was later renamed Awami League, reports BSS. Quader said two senior party leaders from each district will be accorded a reception in Dhaka on the occasion. On June 25, a cultural function will be arranged at the party’s central office.
