UN peacekeeping officials lavish praise on Bangladesh


They expressed their commendations when Bangladesh Navy Chief Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury made an official visit to the UN Headquarters on Friday, said a press release issued from Bangladesh mission in New York on Saturday. The navy chief said the Bangladesh Navy has been participating in the UN peacekeeping missions for a very long time. Earlier on Thursday, the navy chief paid a visit to the UN Headquarters’ Military Adviser and Assistant Secretary-General Lieutenant General Carlos H Loitey. Defense Advisor of Bangladesh permanent mission to UN Brigadier General Khan Firoz Ahmed and Director of Navy Headquarters (Operation) Commodore Mahmudul Malek were also present, among others at the meeting. Naval Chief Admiral Aurangzeb Chowdhury left Dhaka for New York on Wednesday on a four-day official visit to the United Nations Headquarters.
