A clash took place between two groups of Awami League from Mohammadpur and Adabar during the party’s nomination form sale on Nov 10. Nanak, who is also known as former chairman of Jubo League and is the former general secretary of Chhatra League, was elected as a candidate of the Awami League and later served as a minister in 2008. The Awami League began distributing the confirmation letters for the candidates on Sunday at the Awami League’s central offices on Bangabandhu Avenue. A total of 264 Awami League candidates had run for office alongside Jatiya Party candidates at 49 seats. The Awami League had won 230 seats, while the Jatiya Party had won 27.
