The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau has announced that the country’s civil aviation sector is scheduled to undergo a comprehensive safety audit by the International Civil Aviation Organisation by the end of August 2023, the PUNCH learnt. According to the NSIB boss, the upcoming ICAO audit held great significance, as it would provide valuable insights into the safety status of Nigeria’s aviation sector. All I can say is that Nigeria as a country has one of the best safety records because safety is measured in various ways. “It is measured by the number of accidents, measured by number of fatal accidents, measured by the number of serious incidences and occurrences.
