CHATTOGRAM, Feb 27, 2026 (BSS) - An auto-rickshaw driver was killed and seven others were injured in a collision between a CNG-run auto-rickshaw and a mini-truck in Lohagara upazila of the district today. The accident took place on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway near Adhunagar Bus Station area in the upazila around 1:00 pm. The injured individuals are Kanij Fatima (40), wife of Kamrul Huda, along with their daughters Rumaisha (5) and Ruja (1), Husner Ara Begum (39) and her son Amir, Kamrul Huda (50), and mini-truck's helper Md. Dohazari Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Salauddin Chowdhury said a Chattogram-bound mini-truck collided head-on with an auto-rickshaw heading toward Cox's Bazar while overtaking. The auto-rickshaw veered off the road and fell into a ditch, leaving its driver dead.
