Extreme fire danger gripped South Australia on Friday, with temperatures soaring into the triple digits across much of that state, including in Adelaide. The forecast map shows multiple fires making advances on popular vacation destinations and already affected areas, including Narooma and Batemans Bay. “For some of those people, it may be too late," Jones said Friday afternoon, as 25 fires raged around South Australia and drew hundreds of personnel. The fires have left 10 people confirmed dead since Monday: two in Victoria and eight in New South Wales, the Guardian reported. Last week, Australia’s federal environment minister Sussan Ley said bush fires have already dealt a serious blow to the koala population in New South Wales.
