President Donald Trump welcomed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to his Mar-a-Lago resort Sunday, as the two lead delegations hold another round of meetings in another push to end Russia’s almost four-year-old invasion. Trump spoke earlier with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, and planned to again after meeting Zelensky, as well conferring with European leaders. Russia continued its attacks on Kyiv on Dec. 27, ahead of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's meeting with President Donald Trump in Mar-a-Lago. Ahead of his meeting with Trump, Zelensky flew to Canada to meet Prime Minister Mark Carney, who announced a new round of $1.8 billion assistance to Ukraine. Putin has demanded Ukraine cede the entire Donbas region; Zelensky has said Ukraine will not give up any territory.
