A prisoner deported from Australia last year pleaded guilty to two charges of historic sex offences, laid when he returned to New Zealand. Tawhi was arrested when he arrived at Auckland Airport late last year and charged for the historic offences shortly after he touched down. Haimona Justin Tawhi appeared in Napier District Court where he faced two charges of sexual violation by unlawful sexual connection. She was asleep on a couch in the living room of a Hastings home when Tawhi approached her and sexually violated her.
