SportSri Lanka beat Australia by 163 runs to win the third and final Test and record a 3-0 whitewash of the series at the SSC ground in Colombo today (17). Electing to bat, Sri Lanka posted 355 runs in their first innings after placing at 5-26 at one stage while Australia replied with 379 to gain an advantage of 24 runs. Herath picked six wickets and Dilruwan Perera took two. Dhananjaya de Silva hit a timely 65 not out off 74 balls inclusive of 10 fours while Lyon picked four wickets. Sri Lanka won the first two games -- at Pallekele by 106 runs and at Galle by 229 runs.
