Atlanta Falcons built themselves into Super Bowl team by learning from a fitting foe: New England Patriots

The NFC champion Falcons barely resemble the team head coach Dan Quinn inherited exactly two years ago. Only eight of 25 offensive players (six starters) and six of 25 defensive players (four starters) remain. These re-feathered Falcons face the New England Patriots Sunday in Super Bowl LI. “We knew that we had a whole bunch of big, stout guys, and we weren’t going to be doing that with Dan,” Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff Jr. said Monday night. That’s kind of been the vision.” Dimitroff says much of the credit deserves to go to head coach Dan Quinn.
