Sports CS Amina Mohamed. [David Gichuru, Standard]Athletics Kenya (AK) presented Sports Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed with design papers for 2025 bid to hold the World Athletics Championships. AK senior vice president Paul Mutwii confirmed they had presented the necessary documentation and design to the Ministry of Sports. Mutwii, who was speaking when he visited the cross country camp in Kigari Teachers College in Embu, said in 2017 Kenya hosted the Under-18 World Championships and the country showed capabilities in hosting world sporting events. Athletics Kenya officials led by senior vice president Paul Mutuii look at the team list when they visited cross country team that is camping at Kigari teachers college Embu in preparation for Africa Cross country championship in Lome(Togo) on February 24, 2021[Muriithi Mugo,Standard]Mutwii said Kenya should also try to bid for the second biggest athletics event after Olympics that is the World Athletics Championships in 2025.
