The incident was reported Wednesday morning from the factory of Ideal Textile Mill in Charmuktarpur area near the district town, said police. Four fire-fighting units from Munshiganj and Narayanganj are working at the scene to put out the blazes, said Md Joynal Abedin, in-charge of Muktarpur outpost of the river police. Abedin said the fire started from the first-floor of the factory building, where chemicals were stored. "A spark caused the fire at the chemical warehouse, which spread to other parts soon after," said the police officer. Soon after the fire erupted, the district administration chief visited the scene.
