ADDIS ABABA – At least three people were killed in a road accident in North Shoa zone of Amhara region, according to a police report on Sunday. The Amhara police commission says the crash involving a ‘Hi Roof’ minibus occurred in Minjar Shenkora district on Saturday afternoon. In the last 11 months, more than 2290 people have become victims of road accidents in Amhara region, up by 14.14% from the same months last year. About 820 of the victims lost their lives, says the regional traffic police report that blamed drivers for 81% of the road total crashes in the region. A total of 530,000 drivers have been penalized for violating traffic regulations in the first eleven months of the concluding budget year.
