Hadiya Hossana had the best chance to get ahead when Baye Gezahegn broke free in the St George box, but they fluffed the chance through Segai Birhanu. St George were crowned champions of the BetKing Ethiopia Premier League 2022/23 Sunday after defeating Hadiya Hossana 2-0. St George shot into the lead in the 20th minute through Cherinet Gugsa who controlled brilliantly on the turn, to shoot past Hadiya goalkeeper, Pepe Seydou. The 2-0 win takes St George to an unassailable 63 points, away from their closest challengers, Bahir Dar City. The League will end during the week with week 30 fixtures due to run from Wednesday July 5th to Saturday, July 8th, 2023.
