Among the latter is Ghost Days, an accumulating work that Houle, in residence at the Theatre Centre, has been developing over SummerWorks’ full span. It culminates in a final multimedia work, expressed in video, music, photography and performance on Sunday and if you choose to see one thing at the festival this weekend, this would be it. Terrance Houle, Ghost Days : SummerWorks has been more than a theatre festival for some years now and its Live Art program routinely brings in some of the most compelling performance pieces around. Red Rover, a 2012 piece, pits wooden pull-toy poodles (pink) against wolves (black) along a fuchsia-coloured map of the B.C. coast, with the since-defeated Trans-Pacific Pipeline snaking its way to the black waters.
