At 29.3 C, this B.C. town was the hottest place in Canada on Thursday

Spring has sprung — and it's a hot one. More than a dozen heat records were shattered in B.C. The sun cooked up high temperatures across the southwest of the province, from Vancouver Island to the Fraser Valley, while Lytton was Canada's hot spot at a sweltering 29.3 C — though this wasn't quite enough to break its record. Agassiz hit 28.6 C, toppling a record set almost 120 years ago. Hope and Squamish also nearly hit 30 C at one point in the day.
