A man holidaying in Martinborough had to be taken to hospital for stitches after some late-night hospitality turned sour. A Palmerston North man, 43, required about 10 stitches to a gash on his forearm from a beer bottle when a guest at his vineyard villa took exception to being asked to leave about 1.30am on Thursday, police said. The assault happened after the hosts decided it was time to call it a night. Police were looking for a Carterton man, 31, who left the scene shortly after the incident, Sutton said.
