GUWAHATI: Assam will aggressively promote the new brand entity of " Awesome Assam ". The government will promote tourism as an industry, he said.The BJP-led government has pumped in Rs 15 crore to carry out a publicity blitzkrieg on Assam tourism. Sarma said, "Young foreign tourists are keen on visiting Assam and see the tea gardens where their forefathers use to work at one point of time. "The minister added that Rs 33 crore has been sanctioned for the development of the infrastructure of Shaktipeeth Kamakhya temple. "Under Swadesh Darshan Scheme, the Government of India has also allocated Rs 120 crore for 5 national parks of the state," he said.
