CM Pema Khandu on Sunday appointed 26 MLAs as parliamentary secretaries — the largest such number in the state. As the BJP has extended outside support, all the 26 are from the People’s Party of Arunachal (PPA). A party insider said Khandu was likely to appoint them as chairpersons of different state bodies. Five of the 26 were in the camp led by Nabam Tuki, the sole Congress MLA who hasn’t defected to the PPA. Six are former ministers, and one a woman MLA.
