Arsenal have appointed former winger Freddie Ljungberg as their first-team assistant coach, who will now work closely with manager Unai Emery. Ljunberg has been promoted from his role with the U-23s to assist Arsenal boss Unai Emery. Former assistant coach Steve Bould goes the other way to become head of the U-23s. “Alongside his new coaching responsibilities, Freddie will have a strong focus on the young players who are moving into the first-team group.”As part of his new duties, Bould will work alongside academy manager Per Mertesacker. The changes with take effect from the start of July with the club aiming to successfully bring young players through the ranks to the first team.
