Arrivals in Hong Kong from countries other than China must undergo the mandatory 14-day quarantine in a hotel starting today. Secretary for Food and Health Sophia Chan Siu-chee said starting today, arrivals from countries other than China must undergo the mandatory 14-day quarantine in a hotel, in a bid to reduce transmission risk from imported cases to their household members. Previously, arrivals from low-risk countries could undergo the two-week quarantine period at home, but have drawn concerns over the risk of infecting their household members. People arriving in Hong Kong will also be required to be tested at the airport upon arrival. They will only be allowed to leave the airport to proceed with their quarantine after their test results came back negative to the coronavirus.
