Army exchanges gun shot with Indian hemp dealers in Ondo


THERE was a gun battle between a group of suspected Indian hemp dealer and men of the 32 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Akure, Ondo state, in the early hours of Wednesday in Owo, headquarters of Owo local government area of the state. Speaking in the development, the Assistant Director of the Army Public Relations in the brigade, Major Ojo Adelegan, disclosed that Brigade invaded the hoodlums’ hideout after receiving information on the gang illegal business. He disclosed that about 63 bags of cannabis were recovered from the suspects base while their tents were also destroyed. Adelegan urged the people of the state to always avail the security agencies useful information on any criminal or act of criminality in their environments. “We want to use this medium to warn criminals to stay away from the state, we will not give room for any illegality and criminal-minded persons in the state,” he stated.
